This week was the official last week of the Muni Fast Pass — it’s been replaced by the Clipper Card.

During its brief existence, the Clipper has been a controversial little piece of plastic, from the awkwardness of its launch to the privacy concerns of its users.

  1. It was nice when a MUNI Fast-Pass would also get you on BART within SF, but today a Clipper card will take you a few counties away and back.

  2. I had such nuisance experiences with Clipper Card that involved the payment method to add value to my Clipper card. In general, the clipper card refill can be done easily on a Credit card or cash through a payment machine. On some occasions, I only have phone payment methods like Google pay, etc with me on my trip. This is when the trouble begins. The fund can’t be used immediately. Another problem is when you try to consolidate two or more Clipper cards into one card. It will cost you an administration fee to do so! And many more problems!!!
