An occasional collection of bites.

A Mission bagel, piled high with sprouts, and Mexican hot chocolate at Café Petra. There seems to be an unspoken rule to not chat or make any noise that might distract patrons, who appear to be studying, seated on cushions, with teacups and kettles. — J.J. Barrow

A taco at the San Buena taco truck on 22nd and Harrison. A strangely pan-ethnic breakfast experience, given the hipsters, dot-commers, construction workers and hungry locals. Also, a slice of Escape from NY pizza, left in the fridge the night before, hastily microwaved while dashing out the door to work. — Jon Logan

A super burrito the size of my forearm from Pancho Villa, perfectly cylindrical in its smooth foil wrap. Though a scruffy man outside highly recommended the Sandwich Place. “Best sandwich in the neighborhood!” he shouted. – Jessica Lum

Yamo: House noodles + fresh coconut = perfection. An overpriced Korean steak sandwich from Rhea’s Deli. So bad yet sooo good. — Lisette Mejia

A croissant and cup of muesli at Tartine’s. How is it that the men who go there continue to look like they’ve walked out of GQ? — Lydia Chávez
