The Montgomery BART Station has been shut down due to the massive influx of people heading downtown to celebrate the Giants’ World Series victory at today’s parade.

BART officials issued a service advisory minutes ago, suggesting riders use the Embarcadero, Powell or Civic Center stations. They cautioned that those stations might also be shut down if the size of the crowd increases.

Platforms along the Pittsburg/Bay Point line, coming in from the East Bay, appear to be filled to capacity, and station agents have advised riders to backtrack as far as Pleasant Hill to ensure getting a seat on city-bound trains.

Caltrain and Muni also appear to be experiencing delays due to the large crowds. As of 10:40 a.m., Caltrain was experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes both south- and northbound. Muni has suspended service on several bus lines, including the inbound 9 and 9L. A full list of Muni schedule changes is available on the SFMTA website.
