Two of San Francisco’s most popular local creameries are in the Mission District —  Mitchell’s Ice Cream, on San Jose since 1953, and Humphry Slocombe, on Harrison since 2008.

They share a taste for the exotic: Mitchell’s with fruit flavors like macapuno and lucuma, Humphry Slocombe with inspirations like Secret Breakfast, Jesus Juice and Boccalone Prosciutto. Both shops have lines out the door.

  1. Great photos! Making me hungry for ice cream and community. You should come up to Marin and eat at Fairfax Scoop. Vanilla Honey Lavender and Orange Chocolate Chocolate Chip are my favorite.
