Artist Trina Merry was working fast in Clarion Alley to camouflage fellow artist Lori Krein — her living wall— into the mural behind her before dusk.
“I found Lori on craigslist,” Merry said as she put the finishing touches on her intricate body painting. At first people gawked or looked away, she said, unsure what to make of the exposed flesh. But as she applied the base paint, those walking by lingered.
After Krein had been covered with the matching web of mural lines, a man pedaling by looked back and yelled, “Oh, you are for real — I saw you move.” By now the performance piece has walked away.
