Each Saturday, a group of transgender women of the TransLatinas Club of the City College of San Francisco‘s Mission campus gather to share their life experiences.

Rosa Ramirez grew up listening to stories about her father and uncles migrating from a small rural town in Mexico to work in the garment district in Los Angeles. Now, as a reporter for Mission Loc@l, Rosa enjoys telling the stories of immigrants from Latin America and other parts of the world who are making San Francisco their new home.
Her beat is San Francisco City College and higher education.
Before coming to UC Berkeley, Rosa worked for various news organizations across the country including Hispanic Link News Service, Birmingham Post-Herald, Rocky Mountain News and Daytona Beach News-Journal.
Rosa, who speaks Spanish and Portuguese, graduated from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

  1. hola Rosa gracias por el espacio que nos estas dando a nuestro grandioso grupo CCSFTRANSLATINAS, y sobre todo gracias por todo lo que estas haciendo por nosotras y sobre todo para que vean que las transgeneros estamos siempre activas en lo positivo y que tambien queremos y nos hemos superado como cualquier otra persona y que somos todos los seres humanos iguales tanto en mente espiritu la unica diferencia es el gusto de las personas , queremos educar a – ya hacer que las personas tengan otra manera de pensar de las transgeneros y que sobre todo nos savemos superar como todos hasta pronto y sigue adelante como hasta ahorita y felicidades por tus trabajos.

  2. Ojala algun Dia las mujeres transgeneros no tengamos que huir de nuestras casa y poder vivir libremente en nuestros paises, si ser rechazadas ni senaladas como cosas raras y que se nos den las mismas oportunidades como a cualquier ser humano de este planeta.
    Grasias al testimonio de estas 2 mujeres podemos ver que todas las mijeres transgeneros tenemos algo en comun con ellas.

  4. Transgender Womens have very different histories and lives that most people.
    Is very good to hear these stories of transgender women, because each story is the story of one of us.
