Opening Reception March 3, (Adm. $5)

As part of the Solo Mujeres 2010 Show, “Autonomía: Aesthetics for Renewed Independence”, curated by Aide Rodriguez, riffs off the historically charged years of 1810 and 1910 in Mexican history. Autonomía presents a provocative array of paintings, sculptures and multi-media hand-crafted objects.

Rodriguez states, “The year 2010 offers a moment of reflection within an historic context of our struggle for personal, political and economic autonomy. These works offer distinct aesthetic possibilities for exerting control or power over our perceptions, our lives, and our future.”
