It seems like the controversy over Single Residency Occupancy Hotels (SRO’s) has moved from Medjool to the mail. Mission Dispatch reports that residents who live in Single Residency Occupancy Hotels are not receiving their mail correctly. City Attorney Dennis Herrera has taken up this issue and is taking legal action against the US Postal Service stating, “My office’s investigation has documented heart-rending hardships to SRO residents because of undelivered checks, medical notices, appointment information, personal letters and official correspondence.” According to the newspaper over half of the 500 SRO hotels in San Francisco are located in the Mission District.

For all you map lovers our friends over at Burrito Justice have posted yet another fun map- this time involving Dolores Park. I guess even Google Maps can make typos.

And if  your wondering how to find the where abouts of Gavin Newsom? Well SFist has done it. A post today shows him at LA’s gay pride on Sunday  with another gubernatorial candidate Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Great picture!

Looking ahead Mission Loc@l will bring you more news about the life and work of a gay liberation poet Harold Norse 92, who passed away Monday. Join us as we cover a reading of his work at the Bird and Beckett Bookstore, 653 Chenery St, tonight at 7 p.m.
