At the corner of 26th and Bryant Streets.

Police said today that a 20-year-old man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries after being shot at 3:44 a.m at the corner of 26th and Bryant Streets.

The victim, who is being uncooperative, was found at 24th and Alabama. Police said that it is unclear if the victim was shot from a vehicle or if the suspects were on foot.

Witnesses said the incident started at 22nd and Florida and that suspects in a van pursued the victim who was on foot. The first shot, they said, was fired at 24th and Florida and the final shot at 26th and Bryant Streets.

Police said they found the victim on Alabama Street.

A homeless man was caught in the crossfire, witnesses said, and was taken to the hospital to be treated for shock. He was not hit.

Police were on the scene this morning to look at surveillance footage.

We will update as we get more information.

  1. That sounds correct. I heard three shots and then tires squeal. I heard a single follow up shot thereafter by a few minutes.

I heard sirens immediately after. The extremely quick response was appreciated.
