The 11th annual Trans March is underway right now at Dolores Park. It’s an especially important year for Trans March, which has been selected as the organizational Grand Marshall of this year’s Pride celebration. And the city is honoring transgender history by naming a street after Vicki Marlane, the legendary trans performer and trailblazer.

The march starts off in Dolores Park with a rally featuring speakers and performances, with roughly 7,000 people expected to be in attendance. Geena Rocero, a transgender model and activist, will be taking the stage as well as transgender opera singer Breanna Elyce Sinclaire.

We’ve heard Ed Lee says he’s coming and we might see Lana and Andy Wachowski working on Sense8.

After the rally, around 5 p.m., the Trans March takes to the streets. It will wind down Market to where Taylor meets Turk, the historic intersection of transgender history soon to be named for Vicki “The Girl with the Liquid Spine” Marlane.

We’ll have some more coverage for you tomorrow! In the meantime, enjoy this delightful tweet from the folks at Trans March:
