Around 7:20 p.m. Monday two women were injured when a large trailer truck with the letters TWT tried to make a right hand turn onto 24th Street from South Van Ness.
The trailer hit the stop light and it fell, injuring two young women who were standing on the sidewalk.
One of the women was walking and the other was conscious, but clearly in pain. The one that was not ambulatory was placed on a board and both were transported to a hospital, most likely San Francisco General.
We will update as we get more information.
Its the bicyclist running stop signs and red lights that makes the streets dangerous.
The trucks alone are bad, but the speeding cars are worse. Many of the streets in the Mission got a redo or are under construction for a more friendly street, but SVN was simply paved.
The number of accidents on South Van Ness makes me wonder why there seems to be no plans to make the street safer.
This street continues to be ignored and is need of serious traffic calming measures.
