A man was punched and robbed while standing at 18th and Mission streets Friday afternoon. Police arrived at the scene shortly before 1 p.m. and found the victim lying on the ground.

Officer Nancy Guillory told Mission Local that the man was involved in a fight with two other men. It’s not clear whether the victim knew the suspects, or who started the fight, she said.

The victim was punched in the head and fell to the ground, witnesses said. The suspects then went through his pockets and robbed him, according to Guillory. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

Paramedics spoke with the victim as they put him on a stretcher to take him to the hospital.
