Man Shot on 24th and Folsom Streets

En Español.

Update: The man was shot in the torso, not in the buttocks, according to a press release by the San Francisco Police Department.

A man was shot at the corner of Folsom and 24th streets at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, said Sgt. Matt Rodgers, who was at the scene.

The victim got into an argument with two or three men in their early 20s, one of whom shot him in the buttocks, police said. The victim got to SF General Hospital on his own accord and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A bullet hit the window of a liquor store at 24th and Folsom streets.

On the ground near Philz coffee, at least three bullet casings could be seen. Diagonally across the street from Philz, W-K Market was closed off because a bullet had hit the liquor store’s window.

The gang task force is currently investigating the incident.

We will update this story as we receive more information.

I used to enjoy reading the comments of this site but as of late, the comments have become juvenile in nature, and on this case, racist. It is apparent that this commenter really does not talk or write in the fashion that he did.

      Shameful..not funny…..classless.

I will get my news elsewhere.

Well, I disagree with you. Lately if there’s been a shooting in SF, it has likely been in the Lower 24th st area. When I read this article, I was not surprised, at all. And are you suggesting that this site censor “immature” comments? Why don’t you just focus on the articles and not scroll that far down?

What we really need is more police around Dolores Park.

Why can’t we just crush the gangs? They are often well known and identified — Lets round them up and throw them in jail. Crush them and remove them from the neighborhood. The gangs are not welcome.

Maybe you should suggest that at the next Mission SFPD meeting and see how that goes over.

That would be entirely too obvious. And there wouldn’t be any money to be made either. Progressives in City Hall want to keep certain neighborhoods crappy so they can continue to funnel taxpayer money to their non-profit cronies and their “programs” , who in turn fund their re-election campaign. It’s pretty disgusting actually.

Has anybody heard of retaliatory stuff? friend claims there were more gunshots that night, but not sure she knows the difference between gunfire and firecrackers, which folks are still settin off.

I an more afraid of the speeding traffic on South Van Ness Ave than about gang violence in the Mission.
