A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg on 24th and Capp streets, police said.

At around 1 a.m. Friday, the victim was walking when he noticed the suspect walking toward him. The suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the leg, according to police.

The victim then took a cab to San Francisco General Hospital, where hospital staff reported the gunshot as a matter of routine, police said. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Police described the suspect as a male in his 20s. Police are not sure whether the suspect and victim knew each other, and say there is no indication of gang involvement so far.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.

  1. I heard this last night, it was about 1:30 am. There were a bunch of shots fired, about six total in several groups.
