Abigail Vân Neely reports that at least 20 women in the S.F. jail claim a group of sheriff’s deputies forced them to strip down, laughing and filming the “terrified” women with body-worn cameras. One deputy allegedly taunted the women that the videos would be posted online.

Mayor Daniel Lurie took his upzoning plan to the Richmond last night for a town hall. The crowd was tough, writes Junyao Yang, and the mayor grew increasingly testy, arguing that the city is out of alternatives to meet its housing goals.

Mayor Lurie announced a pilot program paying one month’s rent to landlords who reserve vacant units for some former RV dwellers—though landlords aren’t obliged to actually sign a lease with anyone who applies. The program is run with private philanthropic money.
