Good morning!

Police arrested Javier Campos yesterday in connection with last week’s mass shooting in the Mission. Mission Local looked into his background, and found online posts in which Campos bragged about a similar crime.

Skeptical police commissioners grilled SFPD Chief Bill Scott last night about plans to arrest drug users. Scott said the priority of officialsโ€™ crackdown on public drug consumption is to eliminate it from view.โ€œItโ€™s not meant to solve addiction,โ€ he said.

Some Uber drivers, fearing assaults and carjackings, are carrying makeshift weapons. Several say rideshare companies aren’t doing enough to protect gig workers. “Once you’re driving, you’re exposed,” a driver told Mission Local’s Yujie Zhou.
