Good afternoon!
Yes, Covid is back, with new variants—but there’s a new Covid booster that should be available in a couple weeks. Those 65 and older, immunocompromised people, and those with other serious conditions should definitely get the booster. But the vaccines also help protect younger people from long Covid.
The more people vaccinated, the less community transmission. Unidos en Salud is offering free vaccines and testing to everyone. Check the schedule to get your booster at the 24th and Capp Street site.
The SFPD has released footage of officers shooting Richard Everett, a man holding a knife who’d allegedly been threatening people on Jones Street in the Tenderloin. He remains in serious condition at the General, and the shooting is being investigated.
More soon,
Sara
