The kerfluffle continues over Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan’s online post wishing death on city supervisors, with more anonymous copycat threats to supes and their families mailed to their homes. The DA’s office said that if a criminal case were to emerge, it would ask the CA Attorney General to take it up to avoid a conflict of interest: Tan has hosted a fundraiser for DA Brooke Jenkins in his home.
We talked with a range of tech workers about Tan’s rant: some called it “shameful” and “grotesque” and said he should step down. But others said the whole affair was a “manufactured crisis” and that city supervisors were “dumb” to file police reports.
