Good afternoon!
Who could possibly be sabotaging Prop A, Mayor Breed’s affordable housing bond? A lot of moderate BigMoneySF groups endorse it, the progressive League of Pissed-Off Voters endorses it, both pro-housing and slow-growth advocates endorse it. But, Joe Eskenazi writes, Mayor Breed’s own committee gave money to an effort urging voters to reject her measure.
We asked the candidates for D9 supervisor if they support Prop E, which would allow cops to carry out high-speed car chases with fewer restrictions. See their answers, and check out our ongoing election coverage, with questions for all the candidates in Districts 1,3,5,7, 9, and 11.
For more on Prop E, we’ve got a report on Friday’s Battle of the Matts, as Supervisor Matt Dorsey and the ACLU’s Matt Cagle debated the measure that would weaken police oversight and change the rules on surveillance technology.
More soon,
Sara
