Well, Mayor Daniel Lurie announced that his multi-agency “90-day strategy” to crack down on illegal vending and drug use around Mission BART plazas is going to continue indefinitely.The city said results so far were “promising,” though neighbors were not convinced. As one man told Oscar Palma, “Stabbings still happen.”
Junyao Yang reports that the S.F. Democratic Party has raised more money per capita going into the November elections than any other local party in California. Most of the donations came from just a few wealthy backers who have bankrolled the party since moderates took over in 2024.
Here’s some good news for your long weekend: SFUSD students in a new pilot program are making huge gains in reading. Read Adriana Gutierrez on the Chapter One program for low-income, high-needs students.
