We talked with eyewitnesses right after the shooting at the 16th St. BART plaza yesterday afternoon. A brawl broke out, and a young man was shot and killed in broad daylight.

London Breed got a major boost last night, winning sole endorsement for mayor from the SF Democratic Party, which is now dominated by moderates. Interestingly, Nancy Pelosi did not vote to endorse her: Read the details.

Breed is also the sole candidate given a full-page column in the city’s largest Chinese-language newspaper. Though the paper insists Breed is just writing in her capacity as mayor, her columns focus on hot campaign issues, and include a QR code for her WeChat account.

Is that ethical? Well, it’s legal. Which is what Mark Farrell says about pooling funds from his mayoral campaign and a ballot measure he’s backing. Two of his opponents call it “money laundering.
