Good afternoon!
How can all those street teams from different city departments work together? Perhaps through San Francisco’s own version of civilian/military cooperation. Io Yeh Gilman and Lydia Chávez dig deep into Mayor Lurie’s reorganization of teams dealing with homelessness and addiction—a plan inspired by the writings of a former U.S. general who oversaw Special Operations in Iraq.
Meanwhile, over in the Tenderloin, Captain Matt Sullivan announced that four SFPD officers will begin foot patrols to address street conditions—at least on a few blocks. Residents had complained that police were simply sitting in their cars and scolding people over loudspeakers.
