Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

ICE agents pepper-sprayed protesters who were trying to stop the arrest of an asylum-seeker today. Agents tackled protesters to the ground and arrested one, dragging them into the ICE headquarters on Sansome St.

Tonia Lediju, the CEO of San Francisco’s troubled Housing Authority, is gone. The agency has come under fire for financial mismanagement, failed oversight of privately-owned public housing, and poor maintenance.

Mission Local has years of top-notch reporting on the problems in public housing across the city. Here’s one recent piece of the back story.

Wow, S.F. State has really nurtured some amazing artists. Read Daniela Ixtlaly Sandoval‘s interview with artist Christo Oropeza, the owner of Incline Gallery and co-founder of the San Pancho Art Collective.

More soon,

Sara
