Good afternoon!

The DMV has suspended the license of Cruise robotaxis indefinitely, following a series of dangerous events and the Oct. 3 incident in which a Cruise robotaxi struck and dragged the victim of a hit-and-run. The ruling doesn’t affect Waymo or other driverless vehicle companies, but it makes city officials and the Teamsters happy.

We’ve got some great photos from a visit to the artists’ studios at 1890 Bryant, a former mayonnaise factory. Meet the artists yourself this Saturday as part of the Open Studios tour.

The city’s big disruption will happen a few weeks from now, when international bigwigs flood in for the APEC conference. But brace yourself for Halloween first, and study our map to learn which streets will be closed for block parties, trick-or-treating, and general festivities.

More soon,

Sara
