Overview

Mission Resources

The Mission District, long an immigrant enclave, has a strong history of organizing and activism as well as arts and culture. After the 1906 earthquake, Mission Street became the cityโ€™s main shopping area while downtown recovered. It has some of the cityโ€™s oldest housing stock and displacement has long been an ongoing issue as newcomers look for affordable space.
