Verdi Club: 50th San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition

For fifty years, the San Francisco Comedy Competition has discovered remarkable comedians, launched careers, and entertained audiences throughout the Bay Area.

Frankie Marcos is a comedian originally from San Jose, California, who has gained recognition for his stand-up performances both in the U.S. and internationally. He recently made a name for himself by winning the 2024 San Francisco Comedy Competition, joining the ranks of famous past competitors like Robin Williams and Ellen DeGeneres. Marcos regularly performs at well-known venues such as Don’t Tell Comedy and Chocolate Sundaes at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, and he has appeared at major events like the New York Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Marcos’ career has involved working with notable comedians, including Taylor Tomlinson, Michael Che, and Nicole Byer. He has also performed at prominent comedy clubs across various countries, such as Australia, Canada, and the UK. Additionally, he’s featured in the upcoming documentary Sincerely the Bay, which showcases various Bay Area talents.
