ODC Theater: RAWdance: 20th Anniversary Home Season

RAWdance returns to ODC Theater for a milestone 20th Anniversary Season with four world premieres. Co-Artistic Directors Ryan T. Smith and Wendy Rein share two new works. Set in a world of vintage beachwear, Escape offers a cheeky dance romp into historic resort culture, while also inviting reflection on the power of belonging. Social Circle transports us further back in time to Victorian ballrooms, when the rules of etiquette exploded in an ever-shifting landscape of class and caste. For the first time, RAWdance is also commissioning staged works by pairs of company dancer-collaborators. A new quartet by Stacey Yuen and Nick Wagner probes how grief is stored and manifested in the body. And Kelly Del Rosario and Erin Yen draw on anime, cartoons, and video game imagery for a new playful duet.
