ABOUT THE ARTIST
Walter Guerra Ostolaza (he/him/el) is a Peruvian queer artist educated at the Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Perú in Lima. With more than thirteen years of experience in art conservation, he has lived in California since 2002 and has participated in group exhibitions in San Francisco as well as solo exhibitions in San Francisco and New London, Connecticut.
His artistic practice is informed by a deep interest in history, cultural exchange, and the ways symbols shape collective identity. Passionate about learning from different cultures and traditions, he sees participation in this exhibition as a meaningful opportunity to celebrate diversity, dialogue, and community.
