Join Galería de la Raza for the opening of Exist & Resist & Indigenize & Decolonize & Free Palestine on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 5pm-8pm.

Since October 7, 2023, global solidarity has surged against Israeli occupation of Palestine, bringing artists across the Bay Area to produce a powerful collection of protest work to demand the end of decades long genocidal efforts against the Palestinian people. Developed in partnership with printmaking duo Melanie Cervantes and Jesus Barraza of Dignidad Rebelde, Exist & Resist & Indigenize & Decolonize & Free Palestine presents this collection of work created during community art builds to serve as a spotlight of solidarity between communities, a shared vision of liberation, and to highlight the role of the artist as activist. The artworks featured in this show exemplify the necessity of collective action for social transformation and demonstrate how community art bolsters our politics through unique and inherited visual narratives. Exist & Resist & Indigenize & Decolonize & Free Palestine offers a moment for creative regeneration for our community and honors the work of our social changemakers and cultural bearers.
