Eclectic Box: Church of Clown – SF Sketchfest 2026

Church of Clown is the San Francisco home for physical theater. Clowns, mimes, buffoons, and all looking for a home of absurdity converge in this punk rock theater to revel in delight. A nonprofit organization whose purpose is to embolden humanity through community, teach resiliency through humor, find humility through service and nurture inspiration through joy. The Church offers classes, workshops, performances, and two festivals a year.
For us, Clown is a sacred essential medicine at work across all cultures and time. Dan Griffiths was inspired to found Church of Clown in 2022 with other clowns and spiritual leaders who were also searching for community in which to generate new opportunities to practice their craft and to serve.
