People wave signs and stop traffic on Mission Street

Mission Street has turned into a gigantic Giants victory party.  Honking has continued past 9 p.m.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Muni drivers were alerted to reroute around Mission Street, to avoid the excitement.

A 49-line bus that didn’t get the message in time was met by estactic Giants fans who ran into the street near 24th Street BART, surrounded the bus and banged on the windows.  (The bus was okay.)
