Good afternoon!
The San Francisco school district confirmed that its head of labor relations, Apolinar Quesada, was indicted in July in New Mexico on charges of criminal sexual activity with a minor that allegedly took place in 1995. Adriana Gutierrez and Joe Eskenazi report that Quesada formerly served as assistant principal and principal in two S.F. middle schools.
Rosina Boehm reports on the warring slates of school board candidates supported by GrowSF, the teachers union, and the San Francisco Parents Coalition. The tech-backed GrowSF plans to spend heavily to elect its favored candidates, who are also endorsed by the mayor.
After Mayor Daniel Lurie announced a new plan to improve street conditions, the city has put up a dashboard where you can track what’s happening around the Mission BART plazas. Andrea Jimรฉnez talks with D10 Supervisor Jackie Fielder about what the data shows.
For back story, read Io Yeh Gilman‘s report from a full year ago, 200 days after Mayor Lurie first decided to crack down on fencing and drug use around the plazas.
More soon,
Sara
