The San Francisco Police Department quickly identified and nabbed three suspects involved in yesterday’s shooting on Market Street near Jones Street, which left one person with life-threatening injuries.
At 2:58 p.m., SFPD officers patrolling the area heard shots and found a person suffering from gunshot wounds. The suspected shooter fled on foot.
During the course of the investigation, three suspects were identified, according to the SFPD. Officers responded to Waller Street to search for the suspects before observing two of them exit an apartment complex on the 100 block, at 5:52 p.m. As officers attempted to detain the suspects, the men made a run for it. They were quickly caught and arrested following a brief foot chase.
The suspects were identified as 22-year-old Donovan Remond Hayes and 30-year-old Deandre Gippson, both from San Francisco. During the arrest, officers recovered a loaded firearm and other items that police described as related to the shooting. The two were booked at the San Francisco County Jail on multiple felony charges.
Hayes was charged with several offenses including attempted murder. Gippson was booked for being a felon in possession of ammunition and a methamphetamine possession charge.
On Tuesday at 12:30 a.m., SFPD officers located a third suspect on the 5400 block of Third Street, 26-year-old Terry Brown. Brown was arrested on multiple felony charges including “assault upon a person with a firearm,” being a felon in possession of a firearm and a probation violation.
The case remains an open and active investigation. The victim remains under medical care for their injuries.
