Wow, the guy who came in last in the primary for the 11th Congressional District has set a new record—$8.8 million—for money spent in a San Francisco election. Xueer Lu reports that Saikat Chakrabarti‘s campaign spent a whopping $211 per vote, and breaks down where it all went.

Police chief Derrick Lew revealed that data from the city’s extensive network of Flock surveillance cameras was illegally searched by a variety of Federal agencies, though he claimed ICE and DHS did not directly access the data. Despite the leak, write Abigail Vân Neely and Hamza Fahmy, the SFPD defended its use of the cameras.
