A former San Francisco police officer was sentenced to more than eight years in a Pennsylvania state prison for distributing “horrific” child pornography.

Christos Sinchuck Rallis, 52, worked for the San Francisco Police department between 2007 and 2023. He was working as a corrections officer in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, when he was arrested and charged in June 2024. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced in February.

“Sinchuk Rallis actively sought out and shared images of horrific sexual abuse of children, including images depicting rape, torture, or bondage of children as young as infants,” the United States Attorney’s Office wrote.

“A forensic analysis of the defendant’s devices found more than 609 videos and 249 standard images of child sexual abuse material.”

U.S. District Court Judge Joel Slomsky has also ordered Rallis to pay $38,000 in restitution to his young victims.

Rallis earned $340,584 in pay and benefits, including more than $90,000 in overtime pay, the year before he left San Francisco’s police force, according to Transparent California.

A spokesperson for the police department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

  1. I’m most interested in that pay package, which is ridiculous. But it gives me an idea of where Lurie might look for some budget savings. How have we gotten to a place where city employees who spend most of their time standing around, without any specialized skill or education, can make that kind of money?

  2. I did not see Rallis in the city retiree dataset, so fortunately, we have not been bankrolling this p3d0 like we do so many SFPD/SFFD.

  3. Odd that so many people in this country think there is reason to fear the police. How many of his buddies are still out there picking up where he left off?
