Garden for the Environment: DIY Holiday Cards and Botanical Presses

November 15 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Pressed leaves and flowers are arranged on white paper at left, with botanical prints and imprints displayed on small sheets to the right.

Join garden educators Carey Craddock and Jordan Kushins for a festive afternoon making thoughtful projects inspired by nature. Together we’ll tour GFE for cuttings, then learn how to use our harvest to create a set of leaf- and flower-printed cards, and a portable botanical press. You’ll leave this hands-on session with gifts to give or keep, and full of fresh ideas and holiday spirit.

Instructors:

Carey Craddock is a horticulturalist and supporter of GFE who has been gardening and teaching others to garden in San Francisco since 1997. She runs Carey Craddock Gardens where she specializes in edible gardening, drought-tolerant, and native plant gardening.

Jordan Kushins (she / her) writes about creative places, people, and things; draws everything from seagulls to salvias; makes ceramic jewelry and other crafts; and gardens weekly with Carey Craddock, and kids at the Up On Top! program at the Tenderloin Rec Center. She’s a proud Garden for the Environment Get Up! graduate, and has since designed sweatshirts, hats, pins, and signs for GFE.

No walk-up registration permitted for this course.
