Mission Local has compiled all of Mayor Daniel Lurie’s substantive actions from his time in office so far. Here are his major moves:

Explore the actions below. Routine acts, like passing city grants and symbolic proclamations, have been omitted.

Methodology

The tracker includes actions taken up until June 6, 2025.

Items on the tracker were manually collected based on press releases from the mayor’s office, San Francisco’s Legistar, and reporting from Mission Local. Each act was then tagged according to subject.

Some items, like the groundbreaking of the new Buchanan Mall park, a project long in the works prior to the Lurie administration, or smaller actions, like welcoming the J.P. Morgan conference, were not included.

Types of actions are broken down by the following:

  • Appointment: Items related to a new person assigned to a role at City Hall.
  • Enforcement: Items relating to enforcement or intervention from the San Francisco Police Department, or other city departments.
  • Legislation: Any items that are tied to written legislation, such as an ordinance.
  • Order: A direct order issued from the mayor to one or more city departments.
  • Permit: Items that entail permits.
  • Program: Other city initiatives that don’t involve written legislation.

Initiatives led by city departments (and not the mayor’s office) are included when they were promoted or created in tandem with the mayor’s office. For instance, the Planning Department’s upzoning plan.

This tool will continue to be updated, and as such the categories are subject to change.
