The northeastern 16th Street BART Plaza remains a destination for illegal vending, but the plazas were generally calm until later in the afternoon along Mission Street. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department were on Capp Street and Julian Avenue, where they made one arrest.

Capp Street between 16th and 17th streets was the busiest block in the area. People sat on the hot concrete next to others, who were bent over, barely able to stand.

Around 11 a.m., sheriff’s deputies talked to a group sitting next to the Mission Neighborhood Resource Center while members of San Francisco’s public health services walked up and down the block checking in on people.

  1. The actual progress is a bit depressing.
16/Mish is where we need the massive sweeps, every 2 hours (just like parking meter maids), really make it uncomfortable and inconvenient to just hang out here.
ARREST ALL street vendors, and confiscate thier goods, they are part of the problem too. Many shoplift from CVS, sell its on the street for a dollar a piece, then buy fentanyl for $10. Then do it all over again.
ENOUGH already. Mobile Police unit should be making arrests every 5 minutes.
Fielder is no nowhere to be seen.
Mission residents on my street are sick of it. I don’t know how she ever got elected. She wanted to defund the police at a time when SF needed more. She’s been tone deaf to crime.

  2. Strongly support our men and women in blue! Thank you SFPD for everything you do to protect our city. We know it’s not easy when you deal with gangs, people having mental breakdowns, breakdown of social order, budget issues and alt-left nutcases who scream to “defund” and “abolish” you.

And thank you Mayor Lurie for refusing to tolerate the status quo and prioritize the safety of our community!
