Tiny pink hearts now paper the former Mission Wishing Tree, bearing messages like “Anything is possible” and “Peace starts in you.”
The creator of the Wishing Tree, Anna Fizyta, decided to cover it with the neon pink messages as an interim decoration while she awaits a city permit to re-post her sign and wishes.
The paper hearts are the result of a “love and abundance party” in which Fizyta and friends wrote down “affirmations of love and abundance.” After the party, she thought of decorating the tree with the affirmations while she focuses on procuring the city permit.
Fizyta also plans to photograph all of the 500-plus wishes that were taken down and put them on a blog, as well as keep track of all new wishes she receives after the tree is re-established.
