Good morning! Hope you’re staying dry.

Well, the SFMTA approved a new design for curbside Valencia bike lanes to replace the reviled center lanes— and people are still unhappy. The previous design pitted cyclists against merchants; the new plan unites both groups in opposition. Read Yujie Zhou‘s report on the contentious 3-hour meeting.

Over on 20th and Florida, the prolific muralist Jesus Rojas is painting a new mural directly on the street. It features a paletero with a cart full of flowers: Rojas, whose mother is a street vendor, says the ice cream seller honors one of the Mission’s most underpaid and overlooked jobs.

The top six political donors in the S.F. elections spent $16.5 million—with mixed results. Joe Rivano Barros asks big donors and advocacy groups how they feel about the return on their investments, and looks at splits inside the moderate coalition that led to uneven outcomes.

And the defense team has rested its case in the trial of Nima Momeni for the murder of Bob Lee, with none of the bombshell revelations they’d promised. Check out Eleni Balakrishnan’s report on what happens next.

More soon,
