OK, so now what?
At least a few people are still hanging out. The change at the 24th St plazas is downright depressing: they used to be so lively, and now they’re barren. I feel like I’m in the suburbs. There were problems, sure, but there has to be a better solution than totally squeezing out the local flavor that makes the Mission the Mission.
And to those that think public plazas being empty and unused by anyone is actually a good thing, I ask this genuinely, out of love: have you considered Walnut Creek?
Such an improvement. Let’s hope they make the vendor ban permanent and then enforce the prohibition going forward.
