A 35-year-old man was pepper sprayed and robbed at midnight on Thursday, police report. The man was walking down Mission Street near 16th Street when he was approached by a group of two men and a woman.

One of the men attempted to take the victim’s backpack. When he refused to give it over, the suspect maced him and forced it from him. The group of three then fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to the hospital but the injuries were non-life threatening. He was robbed of his backpack, cell phone, and wallet. The police have not yet made an arrest.
