Grub, the brunch spot on Valencia Street that had Yelpers raving about bottomless mimosas, has closed down just months after a reopening in the fall of 2015, according to its website.
The restaurant owners could not be reached for comment, but employees nearby said Grub, located at 758 Valencia St. between 18th and 19th streets, closed sometime last week and that it was sudden.
“It was kind of booming as a brunch place,” said Sean Santos, the manager of Paxton Gate nearby. “We’re bummed, we liked ordering from them. It was good American greasy food, you could get like a mount of tater tots, and there really isn’t anything like that [here].”
Santos ate at Grub two days before it opened, he said, and knew some of the employees there. He said the closure was unexpected and unannounced. The restaurant’s doors are locked, and the space inside has been emptied out of everything but stacks of chairs.

Bummer. Its brunch offered a truly bottomless mimosa (no cut-off).
We never went there. Guess the hubby and I don’t get our Gay Cards renewed often since we rarely do brunch in restaurants.
