Fight Sends Man to Hospital

A 44-year-old man was transported to the hospital on Sunday in life-threatening condition following a violent assault that left him with a fractured skull. The attack occurred at 5:42 p.m. near the intersection of 16th and Mission streets, where the victim and a 35-year-old man engaged in a verbal argument that quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. The suspect punched the victim in the face, knocking the man to ground. The man sustained his head injury from the impact of his fall on the concrete, while the suspect was able to flee in an unknown direction. No arrest has been made.

Late-Night Robbery

Earlier on Sunday, at 3:38 a.m., a 41-year old man  was walking home along 17th and Folsom streets when he was approached from behind by an unidentified man on a bicycle who asked the victim for his belongings.  The suspect carried a knife, and the victim complied with the robber’s demands by taking off his backpack and handing it to the suspect, who removed a tablet from the backpack before fleeing on his bicycle. Police have not made an arrest in the robbery.

Burglary

At 11 p.m. on Thursday, a 65-year-old man awoke in his residence near Valencia and 21st streets to find his pants moved to another room as well as several credit cards missing from his pant pockets. The burglar who entered the sleeping man’s home has not been identified, and no arrests have been made.
