Police report a 25-year-old man was at the intersection of 19th and Shotwell streets at 2:22 a.m. on Friday morning when another man, estimated to be around the same age, fired a few shots from a handgun out of a silver flatbed pickup truck. The victim was hit in the hand, and the suspect drove off. The victim was transported to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition, but the suspect was not arrested.
Assault
Just before midnight on Thursday, April 21, a 42-year-old man was walking on Harrison Street between 12th and 13th streets when he was approached by a man in his early 20s. The younger man demanded the victim’s belongings. When the victim looked downward for a moment, the suspect hit him in the head with a metal pipe before fleeing the scene. He was not arrested, but the victim lost consciousness and was later transported to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
Carjacking
At 1:30 a.m. on Friday, a 26-year-old woman had just parked her silver four door Volkswagen at a gas station on 26th and Mission Street. Three men and a woman surrounded her car and knocked on the window. They then forced the woman to get out of her car, and drove off with it. No arrests have been made.
