Waiting to be used Photo by Kathleen Narruhn

It is 53˚ and expected to rise to 60˚. Details for the next ten days are here.

This morning’s block is Bryant, 16th St, Potrero to 15th St which is a one block area leading up to Safeway’s unloading area.

Up there is the hidden 200 block of Hampshire St. Alameda St is also part of this large block but I did not take
photos on that side. There was a large homeless camp and also men standing around looking for hired work. It was very challenging to photo around here but TGIF!!

With the light good early on, so much the better to sign on to document your block. Don’t wait! Let us know what day and block you would like at info@missionlocal.com.

You can see a map of all of the blocks here. The blocks in grey are being saved for others who have signed up. Let us save a block for you as well.

I have lived in San Francisco since 1961 when my Dad moved us for his new employment from Stockton, CA. It was great growing up in the City back then. We lived in Eureka Valley and when I became an adult I moved over the hill to Noe Valley. In 1982 we looked to buy property and settled in the Mission. We bought a pair of flats with friends & we both raised our families here. Our adult children have moved on. We remain and continue to watch the neighborhood change.

  1. Your correct SFCode. This was once Seals Stadium and later the store White Front. If you see the photo of Safeway on the left top was where the Hamm’s Beer mug lit up at night and their
    brewery was located.

  2. I believe that shopping center with Safeway/Petco was the site of Seals Stadium, the home of SF’s old minor league team.
