If Supervisor Scott Wiener gets his way, a public nudity ban could be established in San Francisco, the San Francisco Examiner reports:
Wiener said that while the Castro’s reputation for promoting free expression is part of the neighborhood’s character, some nudists have taken matters too far.
“The Castro is not about a group of men exposing themselves every day,” Wiener said, adding that many supporters of the increased restrictions are prominent LGBT individuals.
SFWeekly went to the recently opened Farina Pizzeria on Valencia, and they weren’t impressed. Why? The food critic writes that with most restaurants focusing on local products, the fact that Farina imports all its ingredients isn’t all that impressive. From the review:
Five or 10 years ago, when everyone was discovering regional cuisines little known outside of Italy, such strict adherence to authenticity would have been celebrated. Now that the focus has shifted to local and chef-driven fusion menus, it feels as revolutionary as latte art.
As for the pizza itself, Anna Roth writes:
All this would be beside the point if the pizzas were transcendent. Instead, they’re average renditions of Neapolitan-style pies you’ve likely had before.
