Carnaval is this weekend and street closures are starting as early as tonight, so plan ahead.
According to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority (SFMTA), the following closures will start at 10 p.m. on Friday and continue through 2 a.m. on Monday:
Harrison Street between 16th and 23rd streets
17th Street between Treat Avenue and Alabama Street
18th Street between Treat Avenue and Alabama Street
19th Street between Treat Avenue and Alabama Street
20th Street between Treat Avenue and Alabama Street
Mariposa Street between Alabama and Harrison streets
Mistral Street between Harrison Street and Treat Avenue
Intersections:
Harrison Street at Mariposa Street, 17th Street, 18th Street, 19th Street, Mistral Street, 20th Street, 21st Street and 22nd Street
Treat Avenue at 17th Street, 18th Street and 19th Street
On Sunday, the Carnaval parade will start at 9:30 a.m. The staging area for the parade will be on Bryant Street between 18th and Cesar Chavez. Assembly for the parade will begin at 5 a.m. and it will finish by 4 p.m.
The parade will proceed west on 24th Street from Harrison, north on Mission Street and east on 17th Street to the dispersal area along 17th Street, South Van Ness Avenue and 15th Street.
Cross-traffic will be allowed until 9 a.m. along the section of Bryant Street where the parade will be staged.
Streets will be opened to traffic after the parade passes.
SFMTA said that no public parking will be available for this event, so people are encouraged to take public transportation.

49 Van Ness/Mission
