SF Gate’s City Insider is reporting that some vandals are wreaking havoc at the Dolores Park construction site:
“We hope it’s not a pattern, but we think it could be a pattern, that people are actually targeting the playground construction,” [Connie] Chan [of the Recreation and Park Department] said.
The playground was slated to open at the end of March, but these instances of vandalism threaten to delay its opening date and inflate its cost, Chan said.

Interesting, they allegedly attacked construction equipment owned by contractors, not the play facility itself.
I saw graffiti on some of the new concrete play structure. Until SF gets serious about classifying taggers as criminals rather than artists, a huge amount of city resources will continue to go into this type of clean up at the expense of other programs. Mission Local and Mission Mission should think about that when they give positive press to taggers in their publications too.
here here. I’m sick of the leg-lifting all over our neighborhood.
What kind of damage is 25,000.00 worth.
Should’nt it be Secured at the end of day just like any other constructuion site in San Francisco???? Or because it’s a city project that taxpayers are footing the bill, there is no securtity ?????????
Is this another excuse for pushing back date of
Fed up with excuses.
