We are also getting word from Dan McMenamin of Bay City News that the Powell Street Cable car, decked out in NY Giants gear on Sunday, was possibly the deciding factor in the G-men’s victory.

You might have noticed the stunning photo above. It’s the work of Beth LaBerge, who has a display at the City College Administrative Building, 33 Gough St.
The inspiration was 24th Street:
“Our Street” began as a project to capture the slow and constant changes of a neighborhood. During my many travels up and down the Mission District’s 24th Street, I stopped and said hello to my neighbors and in doing so found a longing to connect the diverse communities that exist on the street.

Bernal Bucks, a form of currency in Bernal Heights, has gone national. The LA Times is the latest to write about it; here is our coverage.

Now, Bernal Heights is taking its experiment in localism one step further, adopting what is believed to be the country’s first “complementary currency” in the form of a debit card.
